Sceneweb

Sceneweb is a database and an Internet portal currently under development and scheduled to be launched in the fall of 2011. Sceneweb will be a site to find information about current performances around Norway plus an archive of historical information on performing arts.

The aims of Sceneweb

  • Make Sceneweb the leading reference work and information portal for Norwegian performing arts.
  • Document the activity within the field of independent performing arts in Norway from the 1960s until now, and make this documentation available.
  • Document the activity within the national and regional performing arts institutions in Norway and make this documentation available.
  • Develop and implement a national database and internet portal with two main functions; an archive and up-to-date information about performing arts in Norway.
  • Develop and implement a database that can be used as a service by any unit with an archive of Norwegian performing arts.
  • Stimulate the professional and the general audiences' use of archive and information material regarding Norwegian performing arts.
  • Gather the Norwegian performing arts professionals in a collective lift concerning documentation and information about Norwegian performing arts.
  • Prevent that the public memory about this art field fades.
  • The database is to be in Norwegian (Bokmål) and English, so that the information in the database also is easy to access for international performing arts professionals and spectators interested in Norwegian performing arts.
